About the Class
In this special Skirball writing workshop, we take our inspiration from Therman Statom’s installation of Glass Sukkah: This Home Is Not a House. Working with a variety of writing prompts for personal essay, fictional story, and poetry, we will explore our relationship to "home"—what the word means, what stories and poems emerge from our ideas, thoughts, and feelings about "home."
Instructor: Lesley Hyatt teaches writing and mindfulness to students of all ages. She holds an MFA in English and fiction writing and is the author of myriad essays, short stories, and poems. Hyatt received an Outstanding Instructor award for her work as a creative writing instructor at UMass, Amherst. She is a former Fulbright Scholar.
